Bucharest, 2025 – As part of its commitment to sustainable development and urban mobility, Nhood Romania is supporting a €35,000 investment project initiated by Ceetrus in January. This investment focuses on purchasing and installing free bicycle repair stations in 18 shopping centers across Romania, in 12 cities, including Coresi Shopping Resort Brașov and Drumul Taberelor shopping center in Bucharest. With the support of Nhood Romania, these stations are already operational, offering visitors free access to modern, user-friendly equipment.
The implementation of this project is part of a broader strategy recommended by Nhood, based on findings from a Mobility Plan conducted across all shopping centers managed by the company. The study revealed that, although bicycles are not yet a predominant mode of transport for customers, they hold significant growth potential. The results indicate that among the 18 shopping centers, some locations—such as Crângași, Vitan, and Drumul Taberei in Bucharest—have a relatively low percentage of visitors using cars (below 35%), making them more open to alternative transportation methods, including bicycles. The plan further suggests that bicycle usage could increase with the availability of complementary facilities such as bike lanes, parking spaces, and repair stations.
“The repair stations are part of a broader initiative to promote sustainable mobility in cities. We offer a free service that facilitates cycling for shopping, providing our customers with a fully equipped, easy-to-use station in a strategic location suited to their lifestyle. Such stations have been installed in all 18 shopping centers owned by Ceetrus and managed by Nhood, representing our small contribution to the vision of a climate-neutral city,” said Tudor Chira, Sustainability Manager.
The project supplier is Ecomobipark, the Romanian distributor of Ibombo PRS-SCANDIC stations, a renowned brand known for its fully equipped bicycle repair stations. These stations are also useful for pneumatic-wheel scooters, wheelchairs, and baby strollers. Each station includes various tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches (fixed and adjustable), key sets, levers, pumps with adapters for all valve types, reinforced hose pump adapters, and sets of special safety screws.
So far, bicycle repair stations have been installed in 15 shopping centers: Drumul Taberelor, Auchan Crângași, Auchan Pallady, Auchan Vitan, and Auchan Berceni in Bucharest, as well as Auchan Craiova, Aushopping Constanța, Aushopping Satu Mare, Aushopping Pitești Găvana, Aushopping Iris Cluj, Aushopping Oradea, Aushopping Baia Mare, Aushopping Târgu Mureș, Auchan Ploiești, and Coresi Brașov. The remaining three stations will be installed at Auchan Titan, Auchan Timișoara Nord, and Aushopping Timișoara Șagului after the completion of parking modernization works.
Through these initiatives, Nhood reaffirms its mission to develop real estate projects with a focus on sustainability, contributing to the creation of responsible communities and positively transforming urban environments for residents.
